Gaspard Panfiloff
Sound explorer, insatiably curious about the multitude of music surrounding us, Gaspard has found his way, guided by his instinct, in search of "the sound".
He experiments with passion, sensitivity and exigency, blending colors of music from the world with the skills of written music, the freedom of jazz and the power of popular music, aiming to create his own language.
Welcome to Gaspard's world of sound and music!
Born in France, Gaspard's first musical experiences took place in a small village in the Alps, between two trips to the surrounding mountains. Growing up in a music-loving environment, he began playing the balalaika in the family ensemble, then quickly broadened his musical horizons by exploring other instruments, and playing in various bands. Besides music, he was also fascinated by science and electronics from an early age.
His curiosity led him to study at the Gnessin Institute in Moscow (balalaika, piano and conducting), and at the Paris Conservatoire (sound engineering, harmony, orchestration...). Feeling himself deeply autodidact and attracted by traditional music of the world, he has developed his musicality through numerous travels and tours, exploring a music without borders in various formations.
Inspired by encounters with other artists, he creates and leads innovative collective projects, authentic human and musical adventures, through which he pursues and affirms his unique vision, such as the Tournée des Refuges and Balaba.
Open to new experiences, he also likes to put his skills at the service of other creations, and has also composed for cinema, theater, contemporary circus and video games.
Originally more acoustic, Gaspard's musical language has gradually integrated technology: studio production techniques, electronic music, sampling and virtual instrument design. For him, these - as well as composition, arrangement and improvisation - are just other aspects of musical creation.
Always on the lookout and curious about new discoveries, he recently built a mobile recording studio, allowing him to spontaneously produce music inspired by his travels.
